Striving for growth amidst the chaos!

Well, another week has come to a close and the weekend is upon us.  Hard to believe that we’re just a few weeks away from Christmas and another New Year!

Here’s some good stuff to read if you have time this weekend…

Bob Franquiz has a nice article on budgeting for church leaders during these rough economic times.

Marty Schmidt has a piece on taking a census of your life and church.  If you’re in business, the obvious parallels apply.  Marty’s “Advent” approach with his kids is nice too!

Missouri church pastor Joe Wilson has an article about “Cancer in the Church”.  I think you’ll like his thoughts.  Our tongues, more than anything else, can destroy people.

We’re still early enough in the Christmas season for you to benefit from Arvind Devalia’s article on having a great Christmas this year.  Arvind was a guest writer recently for the well put together “lifehack” website.

..and finally

“Man Bag” lovers unite!  I’ve taken a lot of flack back in my old home in the midwest for my new appreciation of “Man Bags”.  You know, those more masculine “messenger” bags or “Jack Sacks” [named for Jack Bauer of the hit TV series "24"].  I pack so much useful stuff in mine that I don’t know how I got along without it now.  Well, just in time for Christmas, comes the offerings from Levenger.  Steve Leveen has written a post about their most popular offerings.  I must admit, I really like the “Saddlebag Sling” for my travels and short trips to the coffee shop.  Perhaps I can talk my wife into one in black please.

Have a great weekend!
